国内英语资讯:Top legislature schedules bi-monthly session
BEIJING, Aug. 18 -- The top legislature of China will convene its bi-monthly session from Aug. 28 to Sept. 1, according to a statement issued after a chairpersons' meeting Friday.
Attendees of Friday's meeting, which was chaired by Zhang Dejiang, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), suggested that at the 29th session of the 12th NPC Standing Committee, legislators should deal with draft laws on nuclear safety and the national anthem as well as draft revisions to the laws of anti-unfair competition, standardization and promotion of small and medium-sized enterprises.
Legislators will also study and discuss proposals, including those to review draft revisions of laws on the organization of courts and procuratorates, and the judges law.
They will also discuss a review of a draft law on tobacco leaf tax.
They will consider reports on economic and social development, the implementation of budget, poverty relief, the work of Intellectual Property Right (IPR) courts, and the implementation of the Copyright Law.
Legislators will review draft lists of members of electoral councils, which elect deputies from the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macao to the 13th NPC.
