体坛英语资讯:Report: Ancelotti leaving Bayern in 2024
BERLIN, Sept. 15 -- While Bayern Munich coach Carlo Ancelotti is trying to ease the tension at his club Bayern Munich, a media report is causing new trouble for the Bavarian club and its Italian star coach.
According to information of the US based TV station ESPN, the three times Champions League winner could leave Bayern earlier than expected when he does not manage to gain success in the Champions League.
Ancelotti has to reach the semifinal of the 2024/2024 campaign, says the report. The current contract is running out in 2024. Based on inside club information Bayern can use an exit clause for 2024.
Bayern have refused to comment the report.
According to several other German media reports, Ancelotti will make way for TSG Hoffenheim coach Julian Nagelsmann as early as the end of the season. The deal with the 30-year-old Nagelsmann is said to be fixed already.
Bavarian-born Nagelsmann in a recent interview admitted: "I am happy in Hoffenheim, but Bayern would make me happier."
Pundits assume the club will move for Nagelsmann this summer to avoid missing out on another opportunity to bring in a young German coach. In the past, Bayern thought about Juergen Klopp (FC Liverpool) and former Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel but instead decided to go for Pep Guardiola and Ancelotti.
According to English media reports, former Chelsea coach Ancelotti (2009 - 2011) is considering a return to the Premier League when leaving Bayern.
Meanwhile, Lothar Matthaeus told Bayern Munich coach Carlo Ancelotti to "take drastic measures to avoid chaos." According to the former German international, the 58-year-old Italian star coach has to change his working pattern.
"He has to be much stricter than he did in the last month," Matthaeus stressed. Otherwise, Matthaeus expects the club might react and consider giving Ancelotti the sack.
If necessary, Ancelotti will have to sideline certain players to regain discipline in the squad of the 2024 German Champion. Success is in danger when Ancelotti can't find the right solutions, to get everyone toe the line, Matthaeus said.
"He has to take action against all that is disturbing the team and the atmosphere in the club," the former midfielder said.
The current Bayern coach should only consider players for his line-up, "he can trust, and of whom he knows what they are capable of." The team would need stability, and that could only be reached by a regular lineup and not when Ancelotti is changing his team all the time.
"He has to talk to his players more than he did so far. He has to get them in the best shape and get them to play better," Matthaeus commented.
Bayern's club leaders blame Ancelotti for lack of discipline in his squad after the strikers Thomas Mueller, Robert Lewandowski and Arjen Robben voiced their opinions in public expressing their disappointment about the team's performance and lack of team spirit.
Ancelotti claims to take care of the team's problems. The Italian talked Franck Ribery about the recent angry outburst of the French striker. After Ribery was substituted in the 78th minute in the Champions League match against RSC Anderlecht (3-0), Ribery refused to shake his coach's hand, took off his shirt and threw it away.
"I talked to Franck. He is an open and honest character. You never get in trouble with honest people," Ancelotti said. "I was upset after the game as everyone was. We had to do some straight talking, but now the problems are solved. We focus on our next tasks," the Italian commented.
Ancelotti said he is hoping to stay with Bayern until his contract expires. Enditem
