国际英语资讯:Putin, Trump stress diplomatic solution to Korean Peninsula issue -- Krem
MOSCOW, Nov. 21 -- Russian President Vladimir Putin and his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump exchanged views on the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue in a phone conversation Tuesday, stressing the need to seek a solution through negotiations and diplomatic means, the Kremlin said.
The two presidents agreed to continue anti-terrorist cooperation and coordinate efforts between special services of both countries.
Putin informed Trump of the outcome of his meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Monday in Russia's Sochi, when the Syrian leader reaffirmed his commitment to a political process, constitutional reform and presidential and parliamentary elections.
Putin told Trump that Russia fully adheres to the Iranian nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
They also touched upon Ukrainian and Afghan issues.
"Both sides expressed satisfaction with the phone conversation, which was business-like and informative," the Kremlin said.
