Part 3
Topic: Travelling
Question: To what extent do you agree that watching TV has replaced the role of travelling in our society?
Model Response: In many ways, travelling has been replaced by watching TV in our modern society because TV is now able to bring the images and sounds of almost every tourist destination of the world into your living room. And all you have to do is sit and watch and sometime feel a splendid array of pictures, videos and demonstrations of how wonderful those tourist attractions are. But there are also cases where TV just plays the role of doing advertising for tourism, and the audience would become more enthusiastic to go travelling and experience the local scenery, culture and perhaps food for themselves.
Topic: Education
Question: Why is it important for children to be educated by their parents at home?
Model Response: While children go to school to acquire knowledge and academic skills for their future, it is also important that they be educated by their parents at home. And I think the focus of parental education should be on interpersonal skills, social manners and morality. I have seen too many young children nowadays who simply dont know how to deal with people. They are self-centered and selfish, showing no concern for others and behaving very improperly in public places. Worst of all, some of them cannot even distinguish right from wrong because they dont have the moral sense of doing the right thing.
Topic: Performance
Question: Do you think the Internet would have some negative effects on performances in China?
Model Response: Well, there are already some negative effects produced by the Internet on performing arts in China. For one thing, the audiences in the theater are shrinking because they can watch performances on the Internet. Therefore, many performers in China are having a tough time finding income and are unable to continue their production. The interaction between performers and the audiences is also suffering: if the performing artists get little feedback from the theater, the sad fact is that they would soon lose their inspiration and enthusiasm.
