　　When I was a child, I often dreamed of the time when I could leave home and escape to the city. We lived on a farm and in the winter especially(尤其), we were quite cut off from the outside world. As soon as I left school, I packed up my bags and moved to the capital. However, I soon discovered that city life has its problems, too.

　　One disadvantage（不利） is money—it costs so much to go out, not to mention basics like food and housing. Another disadvantage is pollution. 　　Is life better then, in the city? Perhaps it is, when you are in your teens(十几岁) twenties. However, as you get older, and especially if you have small children, the peace（宁静） of the countryside may seem preferable. I certainly hope to move back there soon.

　　While small may be beautiful, tall is just plain uncomfortable it seems, particularly when it comes to staying in hotels and eating in restaurants.

　　The Tall Persons Club Great Britain (TPCGB), which was formed six months ago to campaign for the needs of the tall, has turned its attention to hotels and restaurants. Beds that are too small, shower heads that are too low, and restaurant tables with hardly any legroom all make life difficult for those of above average height, it says.
