体坛英语资讯:Germany wins U-20 World Cup womens title
The German U-20 women national team won the FIFA World Cup tile 2010 in front of 24,633 spectators in Bielefeld on Sunday.
German striker Alexandra Popp and midfielder Kim Kulig netted each one goal to seal the 2-0 final victory over Nigeria. The U-20 women national team marched through the tournament with six victories in six matches.
Alexandra Popp gave the German national team the lead with only eight minutes into the match when she slotted the ball from 14 meters into the far corner to mark her 10th goal of the tournament.
Nigeria was unable to put up some resistance, so that Germany wrapped the World Cup title in the dying minutes of the match through a header by Kim Kulig to make it 2-0 on the scoreboards.
This is the second World Cup title after 2004 for the German U- 20 national team.
Earlier that day, South Korea defeated Columbia at the third place playoff 1-0 thanks to the goal by striker Ji Su Yun.
