活动的英语作文(课外活动的重要性)
Student activities are as beneficial as academic study. Do you agree or disagree?
Growing numbers of schools are shifting part of their attention from academic study to student activities. The reason for this change are the benefits students receive from these activities, like communication skills, better knowledge about the society, and their ability to put knowledge into practice. These activities are at least as beneficial as academic study.
Student activities can help to develop communication and cooperation skills which are important for the future career development. Knowing how to work with others and establish harmonious relationships with colleagues and employers sometimes is even more important than professional skills in the workplace. Students who were members of student groups or clubs can adapt to the working environment better than others since they know how to get along with different people. The skills you learned in the activities will aid you after graduation.
Participation into different extracurricular activities can also leads to better knowledge about the society. The campus is a place with much simpler rules, and to know the sophistication of the society they must step out of the campus, doing things like volunteering jobs, one-on-one assistance for poor kids and others. Volunteering in the old people’ home, for example, we will learn about the changing situations by comparing the current conditions with the experiences of the elderly.
Doing activities can also motivate students to integrate theory with practice. Practice makes perfect. The sailors who always learn sailing skills without practice cannot cope with the roaring waves in the ocean, and the same principle also apply to students.
Given these reasons above, various activities are as beneficial as academic study, providing students with more opportunities to know much better about people, textbooks and the whole society.
